Cast resin transformers carry no oil, so they can be installed inside basements, plant rooms and occupied buildings without a fire wall or oil-containment pit. Windings are vacuum cast in epoxy, giving a self-extinguishing, moisture-resistant unit with class F insulation and excellent short-circuit strength. Forced-air cooling raises the continuous rating by up to 40% when the load profile demands it.
